Paper Towns: Book Review

Hey guys! First book review! Hope you like it! Paper Towns is the book I chose because it is just everything you want from a book. It’s romantic, emotional, hilarious, it is all you could get from John Green. Now that I think about it, I guess it’s what I want out of a book. I’ll be talking about the parts in the story. It is divided into three parts I’m pretty sure.

Part One is Strings. And let me tell you this: It is very funny. I’m telling you right now, from the beginning to end, it is just funny. Margo is so clever, and Quentin is just scared. In Part One: Strings. Together, they get revenge on all of the people they hate. It is hilarious! “Your friendship with Margo sleeps with the fishes.” And they literally put fish in their house! Catfish, I’m pretty sure. Part One is so adventurous, so suspenseful! Yet so funny. That’s how John Green is, you know? He’s funny yet he could make you cry. With his beautiful works of art. I liked how they shaved Chuck Parson’s eyebrow off! In the first part of the book, it’s all about their adventure to get revenge. It’s ridiculous. RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME!

Part Two is The Grass. This was more of an emotional part, I think. It almost jerked out all of my tears at the point where Quentin just sat and cried. Screaming. He loved Margo. Still. But Margo was just looking for adventure. At the time, I wasn’t sure about the love story that I was hoping I’d get, but there’s always hope right? Anyway, that would’ve been a good ending to this paragraph, but that’s not all. I was reading an article about how John Green cried when he saw he scene of when Lacey and Quentin sat in the bath tub and talked. I didn’t think it was sad or dramatic in the book, but I haven’t seen the movie yet. The book is always better, but this time I’m thinking the movie might be. It was also suspenseful when they met Gus and his friends. Well, it was suspenseful at first. They didn’t know who was coming! They were petrified! I think it was a little emotional when Gus and his friends were telling all about how they used to “explore” with Margo. They would say how pointless they thought it was that once she entered the room, she would just sit in a corner and write in her notebook while they went and found things and explored. I wondered, What could Margo be writing? She’s such and interesting person! I hope we get to read it!

Part Three is The Vessels. Road trip! Woohoo! Love it. Let’s find Margo! Her parents don’t give a crap about her, but we do! Anyway, the road trip is divided into hours. Which hour was my favorite? Ummmm….. It would have to be Hour Three (or was it Hour 2?) when Ben kept complaining that he had to pee! Or was that every hour? Anyway, I was afraid Q and M wouldn’t kiss! But they did. It was dark. Their eyes were open. It was amazing.

And…. That’s it! How’d I do? Scale from 1 to 10? 11, I hope? Okay… Byeee! Going to Disney tomorrow! I’ll have a post on it by next week! Byeee!

Hey! I just want to let you know that I haven’t been posting because I haven’t had the time! I also might be going to Disney World! Of course, I’m not sure yet, but this is just an update with what’s going on. I’m really sorry I haven’t been posting!

Okay, so after I finish the book “Paper Towns” by John Green, I want to do a book review on it. But I’m not really sure. I don’t really know how a book review works. Am I supposed to talk about my favorite parts and least favorite parts? Am I supposed to talk about the most important events? What do I say? Is it like a book report almost? Feedback please! Thank you!

Do Pajamas Matter?

Usually I just wear a long T-Shirt and underwear to bed, done. But I was invited to this birthday party sleepover and I thought the birthday girl was really cool. I just want to impress her and make her laugh and become her friend so people will think of me as really cool and popular.

So, I was thinking about what I would wear for pajamas for the sleepover. I started to freak out and I asked my mom if we could go shopping for some cute pajamas. She shook her head and told me to grab some from upstairs. I shook my head and said,”No, no, no! You don’t understand! My pajamas aren’t cute!” My mother looked at me as if I was nuts.

“Sweetheart, it’s not like you are going to a fashion show and the theme is slumber party. You are wearing these to sleep.” She had a point, but I needed to impress Jordan.

“Mom! Seriously! She’s so cool, and I wanna look good for her. It’s embarrassing to wear one of my grandfathers T-Shirts to a birthday party.”

“She isn’t your friend if she judges you by your clothing, especially your PJ’s.”

“Mom, I want to impress her. It’s not that she’ll judge me, it’s just that I’m afraid she’ll judge me.”

“If you’re afraid, she has obviously judged other people before.”

Honesty, what do you think about this discussion? Comment what you think happened and I’ll post something called Answer To Pajamas Discussuion. I need comments, comments, comments!

What The Divorce Did

Why is it so hard for my sisters to take it all in?

When I was in first grade, my sisters (Nina and Liana) and I were sat down at the kitchen table. My mother and father had been sleeping in separate rooms at the time, so we should’ve known what was coming. I think deep down we all did. My dad started to tell us a story. “Once upon at time, there were two people named Frank and Sandra. They fell in love and got married and had three beautiful little girls. They were all a big happy family. Three beautiful girls who were still growing, still blooming.” Liana and I giggled. Nina glared at us, but my mother told her that we didn’t understand yet and to leave us alone.

My mother decided to take on the story. “One day, Mommy decided that Mommy and Daddy had to split up. That is what we call a divorce. We are getting this divorce for reasons you do not have to know right now. You are too young,” my mother said. “I am moving out of this house and getting a new one. It’ll be fun to have two houses.” But by then, we were all crying except my parents.

My sisters and I ran up to me and Liana’s bedroom, and our parents followed. “I know it’s hard, but it’ll all be okay. You will get used to it,” my father said. His eyes started to water and he started to cry. That was the only time I had ever, in my lifetime, seen my father cry. He’s usually not so emotional. He just raises his voice or yells.

My mother was the only one who never cried at that moment. She was comforting all of us, you know, the cheesy stuff like telling us it would all be okay.

In February 2012, my mother got her new house and my dad had gotten a girlfriend. But it all happened so fast. My dads girlfriend moved in around June and I was the only one besides my dad who was actually okay with it. I always think, Why is it so hard for them to take it in? Why is it oh so hard for them to understand?

My mother got a boyfriend and we all loved him and my sisters disliked my dad’s girlfriend very much. I just don’t get it.

See, there was one really good thing about the divorce. We had gotten a dog. Dean, my mom’s boyfriend, had been looking for someone to take care of his mother’s dog. She was a small Maltese with short hair and we immediately fell in love with her. Dean’s mom had moved to a condo that hadn’t allowed dogs, so we took her right away. She is very yippy, but we don’t love her any less.

Robbin, my dad’s girlfriend, well, I love her. She is so nice and I don’t see why my sisters can’t be nice to her. All is well for me, but more drama comes along the way.

My sisters seem to have a problem staying at my dad’s place and it’s all of this drama. We even had to see a psychologist. It was torture, and it still is. Nina and my father have the worst relationship. They had to see the psychologist privately.

I should be very lucky because in some divorces the parents absolutely hate each other. Or worse, you never get to see one of the parents. But I am a lucky girl. All three of us are. I just wish my sisters could see it too.

My About Page

I recommend you read my about page because there is one important thing I want you to know about me. If you read it, you’ll probably know what it is. I’m a little bit scared though, because I don’t want it to interfere.
